15th Annual Fallingwater Twilight Tour

Reservations are now being accepted for the 15th annual Fallingwater Twilight Tour and Picnic Dinner, to be held Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the world-renowned Frank Lloyd Wright house near Mill Run, Pa.

The Twilight Tour welcomes members of the general public as well as Western Pennsylvania Conservancy members to participate in this special evening, which offers a unique and personal experience of Fallingwater and Bear Run at dusk. Guests will enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres on the bridge outside Fallingwater, followed by a leisurely, self-guided tour of the house. At twilight, a lantern-lit path will lead guests to a meadow where a gourmet picnic dinner and jazz music awaits.

The jazz performance features the legendary Roger Humphries and his RH Factor Quintet. Humphries, who has been rated by music critics as one of the most exciting percussionists in the history of jazz, has performed with greats such as Ray Charles, Dizzy Gillespie and Horace Silver.

The Twilight Tour begins at 6:30 p.m. with wine and hors d’oeuvres on the bridge, followed by the picnic and jazz performance at 8 p.m. Tickets for the event are $200 per person, or $175 per person for members of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy.

Proceeds from the evening support the ongoing preservation of Fallingwater, one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most acclaimed works and “One of 12 landmarks that will change the way you see the world,” according to Travel + Leisure magazine. A portion of the price of the event is tax-deductible, with $75.00 per person being deductible for WPC members and $100.00 being deductible for non-members.

Seating is limited and tickets must be purchased by August 14, 2009. For reservations, please call 724-329-8501 ext. 1.
