Fallingwater: Preservation-in-Action In-Depth Hard Hat Tour
Tour Description
Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime guided, educational experience where you will observe preservation efforts in progress, including an extraordinary opportunity to access scaffolding above the waterfall to view of Fallingwater’s famous cantilevers up close. This extensive undertaking is part of a multi-year effort called World Heritage Preserved and addresses repairs to Fallingwater’s reinforced concrete, stone masonry, roofing, and steel window and door frames. Learn about what it takes to ensure that Wright’s sculptural structure lives on, including details about Fallingwater’s historic construction and an overview of past preservation efforts. Hard hats and liability waivers are required to access the scaffolding and active construction zones. Please know that you may encounter dust, debris, protective tarps and other conditions of an active construction site during this tour.
Important Tour Information
Fallingwater is a multi-story house museum with no elevator service. A tour of Fallingwater includes over 100 stairs and one hour of walking and standing. Tours include time outdoors and take place during all weather conditions. Fallingwater is not air-conditioned. Visitors with mobility impairment may consider taking a Guided Accessible Tour.
