An Evening with Mike Block - a Concert of Cello and Voice

Please enjoy this encore performance from Grammy Award-winning Cellist Mike Block who played an eclectic mix of original compositions, songs, arrangements of traditional music and classical selections to help support Fallingwater during its temporary closure due to COVID-19.

This fundraising performance was recorded live on Facebook from his home in Boston on May 15, 2020. Throughout this dynamic concert, Mike shares how his music is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture and design.

His selections draw from his diverse collaborations with artists such as cellist Yo-Yo Ma, fiddler Mark O’Connor, Indian tabla player Sandeep Das and pop stars such as will.i.am, Stevie Wonder and Bon Iver.

Mike is passionate about Frank Lloyd Wright, whose love of classical music is well known. Wright once said, “Never miss the idea that architecture and music belong together. They are practically one.” This intimate concert is a unique opportunity to experience music and architecture as one.

This special Facebook Live concert raised much-needed funds for the preservation and maintenance of Fallingwater. Fallingwater closed temporarily on March 15 due to COVID-19. Your support today means you’ll be part of preserving this architectural treasure and ensuring its continued place on the World Heritage List.
