Fayette County Days
Fallingwater Thanks Fayette County Residents
Fallingwater welcomed more than 1,400 of its neighbors to its Fayette County Days events in 2018. Those that participated were offered free admission and special educational activities. We appreciate everyone who visited as we thanked residents for their ongoing support of Fallingwater. Another thanks goes to the Jack Buncher Foundation, who kindly funded November’s Fayette County Days.
Multiple generations of Fayette County families have played an important role in Fallingwater's history. They helped to construct the iconic house in the 1930s and many of their descendants continue to welcome visitors from all over the world as well as volunteer their time in many ways.
In addition to touring the house, visitors explored the latest exhibition in the Speyer Gallery called "Kaufmann’s Summer Camp: For an Ideal Vacation." This exhibition explores what Bear Run was like before Fallingwater was built by the Kaufmann family. Free educational activities were also offered throughout the day in the Hillman Education Pavilion at the Visitor Center.
