“Serving as the land Steward in Bear Run Nature Reserve was a fantastic opportunity to help preserve and maintain a small portion of trails and ecology in the larger Laurel Highlands area. Bear Run is a small parcel of land, but one with significant native ecological importance. Serving as its land steward was something I did with pride. Outside of that work, I was given the chance to meet many new and interesting people of varying backgrounds, learn about their lives, and then cook for them. Both are opportunities that do not arise often.”

I am a 20-year-old student looking to go into the Parks and Resource Management program at Slippery Rock. I have a strong passion for backpacking and general outdoor recreation.
