New Fallingwater LEGO set unveiled at Fallingwater
The new Fallingwater LEGO set was introduced today at Fallingwater, the internationally renowned Frank Lloyd Wright house in Mill Run, Pa.
The Fallingwater LEGO set joins together two cultural icons – the Frank Lloyd Wright masterwork and the beloved toy brick. It is the latest addition to the LEGO Architecture series, which includes the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Guggenheim Museum and other famous landmarks such as New York’s Empire State Building and Chicago’s Sears Tower. The Fallingwater set is available for purchase at the Fallingwater museum store or online at fallingwatermuseumstore.org.
The Fallingwater LEGO set consists of 811 pieces and has dimensions of 6x7x10 inches. It was designed by Adam Reed Tucker, an architectural artist and president of Brickstructures Inc., which developed the entire LEGO Architecture series.
“My hope is that my whimsical use of the LEGO Brick as an elegant and sophisticated medium transcends its identity as a simple toy to make one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s greatest achievements come to life for all to take away and enjoy,” said Tucker.
Tucker introduced the new LEGO set today at Fallingwater with Doug Volker, director of licensing and product development for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, and Lynda Waggoner, director of Fallingwater and vice president of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. In addition to showcasing the new, commercially available LEGO set, Tucker unveiled a large LEGO model of Fallingwater that was displayed previously at the Chicago Museum of Science & Industry.
“It was the vision, passion and creative desire of Adam Reed Tucker to capture the essence of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most famous buildings, including Fallingwater, using the medium of the LEGO brick that brought this partnership into being,” said Volker.
