Fallingwater: Family Field Trip

Tour Description
Fallingwater invites families with young children, especially family groups with members under 6 years old, to enjoy the outdoors through an exploration of architecture and nature on one of our Family Field Trips. During a private exterior tour of the house and its landscape, families learn about the science, technology, art and history of Fallingwater through a series of engaging activities. You’re sure to learn new things from one of the world’s most significant works of architecture and have lots of fun along the way!
Expect considerable walking and standing during Family Field Trips. We recommend visitors wear closed-toe shoes with a rubber non-slip sole that provides both comfort and support. There is a ¼ mile walk from the Visitor Center to the house on uneven gravel surfaces. We offer a shuttle service to and from the house for visitors with mobility challenges.
Family Field Trips Include:
- Private outdoor experience of Fallingwater that examines the house’s exterior from the landscape and many of the open-air terraces. Individual family groups can include up to 14 people from a single family.
- Fun learning activities that engage students through observation, sketching, demonstration, and reflection. Activities meet Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Academic Standards in social studies, arts and humanities.
- A Fallingwater souvenir for students.
