Join Brandon J. Anderson, executive director & CEO of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum, as he explores the history of Frank Lloyd Wright’s fascination with the automobile, both in his personal life and in his design concepts.
Attendees will learn about one of Wright’s favorite automobiles, the Cord L-29, of which he writes, “The proportion and lines of the Cord, too, come nearer expressing the beauty of both science and logic than any car I have ever seen.” Wright would go on to own many elegantly styled automobiles including Bentley, Jaguar, Packard, Cadillac and Mercedes-Benz.
This webinar will be livestreamed from the showroom of the museum, and you’ll experience firsthand two of Frank Lloyd Wright’s automobiles, his Cord L-29 and his Indiana-built Crosley Super Roadster, along with period vehicles similar to ones the Kaufmann family used for trips to Fallingwater.
Brandon J. Anderson is the executive director & CEO of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum, and is the fifth Executive Director in its 47-year history. Anderson received his B.F.A. in Historic Preservation from the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, Georgia. He earned his master’s degree in Museum Studies from the University of Oklahoma. His professional resume includes working at The History Museum in South Bend, Indiana; Tryon Palace Historic Sites & Gardens in New Bern, North Carolina; The Thomas Edison & Henry Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers, Florida; and the Telfair Museum of Art in Savannah, Georgia. Brandon is an avid museum supporter, serving as a peer reviewer for the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), serving on the Board of the Historic Houses & Sites Network of AAM, peer reviewer for the National Endowment for the Humanities, National Endowment for the Arts, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. He also serves on the Board of the National Association of Automobile Museums.
