Physical Mobility
Fallingwater is a multi-story house museum with no elevator service. A tour of Fallingwater includes over 100 stairs and one hour of walking and standing on gravel paths and uneven, stone surfaces. Fallingwater’s Accessible Tour is recommended for visitors who prefer to do less or no walking or standing.

Arrive at Fallingwater’s Visitor Center
Fallingwater’s Visitor Center is a paved and level walk from the parking lot. Wooden ramps make the Visitor Center accessible for wheelchair users. The Visitor Center is the starting point for guided tours. It also includes Fallingwater’s Café, Museum Store, the Speyer Gallery, restrooms (including accessible restrooms), and our information desk.

First Floor
Visitors using walkers, rollators and non-motorized wheelchairs may visit the first floor of the house. Walkers, rollators, and wheelchairs must be able to fit through a 27″ doorway to access the first floor.
For visitors using motorized wheelchairs or non-motorized wheelchairs wider than 27 inches, a non-motorized wheelchair that is suitable for use in the house is available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note: this chair does not have hand rims; any visitor using this chair will need a companion to assist with moving the chair. If you would like to reserve this wheelchair in advance of your visit, please contact the Visitor Services office at 724-329-8501.

Sloped Driveway
Guided Tours end in the carport. To return to the Visitor Center, visitors will encounter a sloped gravel driveway. Shuttle service is available at the carport by request.

Returning to the Visitor Center
To return to the Visitor Center, a shuttle service is available by request. There are also two walking routes available: One option is an uphill, gravel path and a wooden boardwalk, the other path includes 68 stairs.
