Drawing by Hand: Introduction to Architectural Drawing

A program of the Fallingwater Institute

Frank Lloyd Wright’s sketches for Fallingwater were created by hand, using pencils, rulers, and scales. Improve your drawing skills and learn the basics of architectural drawing during group discussions, independent studio time, and individualized critique.

Fallingwater Institute Virtual Summer Camps serve as a companion to our high school residency programs. Virtual Summer Camps are appropriate for high school students of all skill levels. During these week-long educational programs, our expert instructors will lead group discussions, present challenging, independent projects, and provide individualized feedback to help you build your skills.

Fee includes studio materials, which are provided by mail. Streaming-quality internet connection and device with video chat capability required. Virtual Summer Camp meetings are held via Zoom. Class sessions include a combination of online and offline time between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. ET.

Eligibility

Any student entering grades 9 through 12 is eligible to apply. No previous design experience is required. Students curious about architecture, design or visual art careers are strongly encouraged to apply. Enrollment is limited.
