Donor-Advised Funds
You can support the Conservancy by recommending a grant from your donor-advised fund (DAF), which is a popular and flexible way to fulfill your philanthropic goals. To recommend a grant, simply contact the organization that sponsors your DAF and recommend that a grant be made to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy.
What are Donor-Advised Funds?
Donor-advised funds allow you to give to your favorite charity, including the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, with ease of use and many of the benefits of a private foundation. Your donor-advised fund is itself is designated as a 501(c)(3) public charity and therefore contributions into the fund are tax-deductible. When you make a distribution from your fund to the Conservancy (you can make your gift unrestricted or designate a particular aspect of our work, like Fallingwater), you can rest assured your gift will be make an impact immediately.
Donor-advised funds can be established with a number of entities, including community foundations, financial services companies. Be sure to work with your financial advisor to make the right decision for you.
Please note: Tax laws and regulations, as well as guidelines of many organizations that administer DAFs, prohibit the donor from receiving more than incidental benefits as a result of a gift from a DAF. Therefore, DAF gifts cannot be used to fulfill individual pledges or to purchase event tickets.
